Content Analysis: The Basics

This one-day workshop covers the basics of content analysis.  Participants will learn techniques such as codebook construction, unitization, inter-rater reliability assessment, team management, and basic computerized coding.  This workshop is appropriate as an introduction for scholars interested in developing specialized analytic skills in content analysis.  Participants will complete the course with the basic skills to complete a content analysis.

Limited to 20 participants.

Instructor:  Dr. Amber Wutich

 

Amber Wutich is a Professor of Anthropology and Director of the Center for Global Health in ASU’s School of Human Evolution and Social Change. She has been recognized as Carnegie CASE Arizona Professor of the Year and received ASU's Faculty Achievement Award for Excellence in Classroom Performance. Prof. Wutich teaches in ASU’s Ph.D. programs in Global Health, Environmental Social Sciences, and Cultural Anthropology. She also teaches text analysis in courses supported by the National Science Foundation.
